William H.Cooper American Legion Post # 603 is one of two Legion posts in the United States comprised of entirely Marines. The post was formed in 1919 by a group of Rochester, New York Marines that returned from World War 1. It is named for a fellow Rochestarian and brother Marine that did not return. Sgt. Wiliam H. Cooper was killed in acton 18 July 1918.
